classiccarauctions.co.uk + buyers premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) 115 LOT 808 Estimate: £20,000 - £25,000 1950 AUSTIN A70 HAMPSHIRE COUNTRYMAN Incredibly rare and restored to a very high standard, the A70 Hampshire Woodie. • The majority of A70 estates were built by Papworths of Cambridge with barn doors at the back, however this example was finished with an attractive tailgate • Powered by the robust 68bhp, 2,199cc, OHV engine from the Austin 16 with a 4-speed, column change, manual gearbox • This charming Woodie was exported to Canada and covered around 50,000 miles before returning to the UK in 1988. The odometer now shows 24,271, so may have been replaced • It was carefully restored around that time and converted to right-hand drive.
