classiccarauctions.co.uk + buyers premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) 37 LOT 730 Estimate: £10,000 - £12,000 1965 PANHARD 24CT Quintessentially French, a two-door, four window coupé with futuristic bodywork that looks capable of 100mph yet is powered by a 848cc, air-cooled twin. • The Panhard 24CT was unveiled to the press in Versailles on 24/06/1963 - fittingly, the day after that years Le Mans 24 Hours - the cars name paid homage to a string of class wins at La Sarthe • It was powered by a sophisticated, 848cc, flat-twin generating a respectable 50bhp driving the front wheels • This wonderful example was purchased by our vendor in Cornwall about 20 years ago and he resprayed it from its original red to its now very attractive colour scheme • It was originally purchased by a wealthy businessman in West Yorkshire for his wife, the only problem being that his wife didn’t drive.
