During development this new body style was known as ‘Audax’ - Latin for bold - and the new design, a radical departure from the Mark VIII, was certainly striking • Introduced in 1961, the latest development of the Audax Series, the Series IIIC, was essentially the same on the outside, but somewhat plainer in trim and appearance, more reminiscent of the Special than the De Luxe.
