+buyer’s premium of 11% + VAT @ 20% 43 classiccarauctions.co.uk More Details Lot 538 Bid On Lot 538 Lot details Reg: HHR 484 Chassis no.: DS36893 Make: Austin Model: A135 Princess DS3 Year: 1951 Engine capacity: 4.0 Mileage: 93471 MOT expiry: LOT 538 Offered without reserve 1951 AUSTIN PRINCESS II (A135 DS3) Sharing its chassis with the A125 Sheerline, the A135 Princess was built by Vanden Plas at their Kingsbury works in North London. • In 1947, Austin produced two virtually identical chassis, one for the A110 (later A125 Sheerline, built entirely by Austin at their Longbridge factory) and the A120 (later A135) chassis used by Vanden Plas to produce the Princess at their Kingsbury works • Although Vanden Plas was by now wholly owned by Austin and much of the running gear and instrumentation was the same in the two cars, the Princess was the Austin flagship, with a higher specification leather, wool and Burr Walnut interior • Subject to an older restoration.
