18 CCA The Classic Car Sale at Stoneleigh Park 2024 classiccarauctions.co.uk LOT 709 Estimate: £10,000 - £12,000 1998 ROVER MINI - ‘AUSTIN COOPER BACKDATE’ Rover Mini Cooper fully restored and sympathetically backdated to a Mk1 Austin Cooper with 1,330cc by Woodbridge Classic Cars. • This 1998 Mini Cooper was originally red and has now been fully restored and tastefully backdated to the mid-1960s and the days of the original 998cc Mini Cooper • Now finished in a period grey, it has been rebuilt using lots of Mk1 styling cues including the moustache grille, rear lights, seating and centre binnacle • The majority of this work was carried out by the well-respected Woodbridge Classic Cars and full details can be gleaned from their invoices within the car’s history file • The car was fully stripped to bare metal, the familiar bodywork issues were addressed and styling changes, bodywork modifications to present it as a Mk1 were carried out.
