80 CCA The Classic Car Sale at Stoneleigh Park 2024 classiccarauctions.co.uk LOT 769 Estimate: £18,000 - £22,000 1957 CHEVROLET BEL AIR - EX- WHEELER DEALERS Next to the inevitable Mustang, the 1957 Bel Air is the most sought after US classic car in the world. • New for 1956/7 was the Bel Air four-door ‘Sport Sedan’, a pillarless hardtop that looked great with all the windows rolled down • As featured in Season 8 Episode 10 of Wheeler Dealers with Mike Brewer and Ed China • Originally in Pastel Blue with white flashes, it was stripped back and repainted in Ferrari Gallio Fly with a white roof and side flashes • During the restoration many of the original chrome parts were replaced along with a full mechanical check over • The interior was also changed at the same time and the car was then offered by Mike and duly sold to our vendors • It has been enjoyed by them ever since, however after a period of time the paint was showing signs of deterioration so the decision was taken to fully strip the car to bare metal and professionally re-finish it in yellow again • The interior was also completely changed to its current black and white ‘tuck and roll’ configuration which suited our vendor’s taste • Finally it was treated to a set of Torque Thrust II alloys which set this classic 1950s sedan off perfectly • Welcome anywhere from ‘Happy Days’ parties to society weddings.
