18 CCA The Classic & Performance Car Spectacular Sale 2024 classiccarauctions.co.uk LOT 511 Estimate: £14,000 - £18,000 1962 TRIUMPH TR4 * An older restored, UK right-hand drive example sporting a delightful patina and ready for summer motoring. • Entering production in 1961, the new TR4 was a wonderful mix of British brawn and Italian style • The torquey four-cylinder, twin-carb TR3 engine was enlarged to 2,138cc and mated to an all-synchro 4-speed gearbox • The accompanying Heritage Certificate confirms this TR4 was a right-hand drive export to Gothenburg, Sweden in May 1962 • Originally finished in black with red interior trim, as it is today. Resprayed in the early 2000s, and retaining its original interior. A new black soft top and an original full tonneau cover are included in the sale • Options from new included overdrive, sun visor, a heater and wire wheels. Fitted with new MWS chrome wire wheels • The engine was rebuilt around five years ago in Sweden and then imported to the UK in January 2022 by the previous owner • Running and driving very well, the TR4 was serviced in 2023 and comes with new rear springs ready to be fitted. The car still presents well, but does have some paint chips in places.
