100 CCA The Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show Sale 2024 LOT 192 Estimate: £28,000 - £32,000 1999 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX TYPE RA 555 LIMITED (483/1000) A very well presented, fully restored example of the rally-inspired, limited edition Japanese performance hero. • Number 483 of just 1,000 built, this spin-off of a spin-off of a spin-off was created to celebrate the mid-1990s period of success in the World Rally Championship under the iconic yellow ‘555’ branding • Imported in 2003, it’s believed to have been off the road between 2010 and 2020, at which point it was subject to a two-part major restoration with an outlay of c.£25,000 (see Condition Report) • Powered by its rebuilt 2-litre EJ207 flat-four turbo, producing around 300bhp and driving all four wheels through a 5-speed short-ratio (4.44 final drive) manual gearbox • Finished in Sonic Blue (74F) and featuring the correct blue synthetic suede and cloth-trimmed front seats, embroidered with ‘555’ • Supplied with photographic evidence of the work carried out and the relevant detailed invoices • Just 1,000 of this limited edition were scheduled to be built, however it may have been a few less.
