classiccarauctions.co.uk + buyers premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) 151 LOT 326 Estimate: £15,000 - £18,000 1962 FORD CONSUL MK II CONVERTIBLE An attractive example of Ford’s four-cylinder Consul ‘drop top’, ready to be enjoyed. • In 1956, the Consul Mk II appeared still positioned as the four-cylinder, sub-model of the Zephyr range, with which it shared the same basic body shell • Compared with the original, it had a longer wheelbase, larger 1,703cc, 59bhp engine and a complete restyle, borrowing cues from the 1956 models of America’s Thunderbird and Fairlane • The roof profile was lowered in 1959 on the Mk II which also had redesigned rear lights and much of the external brightwork in stainless steel.
